About CLASS

The Department of Communication, Liberal Arts, and Social Sciences (CLASS) encompasses fields across the humanities and social sciences, including English, literature, creative writing, film, art history, science and technology studies, American and European history, philosophy and ethics, music, foreign languages, and technical communication. The CLASS Department's main undergraduate programs are:

  • BS in Technical Communication
  • Undergraduate Minor in Secondary Education
  • BS/BA in Psychology

In addition, we offer graduate-level communication and humanities courses, a Graduate Certificate in Scientific and Professional Communication, and a Master of Science for Teachers. Our music program offers a rich array of both classes and performances. Our Writing and Communication Lab provides consultation for NMT students.
