Fully-Equipped Makerspaces
New Mexico Tech offers students access to two primary makerspaces, regardless of major: the FabLab and the Machine Shop.
The FabLab is open to all students and includes resin and PLA 3D printers, CO₂ lasers, VR headsets, soldering stations, sewing and embroidery machines, and open workbenches. Training is provided for all equipment.
The Machine Shop supports advanced fabrication with CNCs, lathes, mills, welding stations, and heat treatment furnaces. Students can take PHYS 3001L – Laboratory and Shop Techniques to receive formal shop training.
