Year of Refuge

Don Boyd Photography

DonBoyd2

Beginning December 21, 2021, Don Boyd spent 357 days in the next 12 months photographing at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. Using both full-frame and medium format cameras, Don had a rare opportunity to capture life at the refuge in all four seasons. While the refuge is well known for its winter migratory sandhill cranes and snow geese, Don’s focus was on the landscape and other wildlife that inhabit the refuge with an eye for what makes this riparian treasure a refuge for people as well.

The show at Macey Center on campus, features more than 30 images from his soon-to-be-released book, Year of Refuge, and will be up through December 14. A preview of some of the work is available at his website, www.DonBoyd.com. Please join Don at the Artist Reception on November 30, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
