I'm originally from Honduras. I moved to Costa Rica as an international student, and obtained my undergraduate degree in meteorology. I was then recruited for grad school by Dr Dave Raymond of the New Mexico Tech Physics Department. I obtained a masters degree in lightning physics, and am now pursuing a PhD in atmospheric physics. My current research focuses on understanding what controls atmospheric convection in tropical oceans, particularly the role played by mid-level vortices in extra tropical transitions of tropical cyclones.
