I was a military kid, so I've lived all over (including my mother's homeland of Japan!), but most recently came from the Washington D.C. metro area. I completed my undergraduate studies at George Mason University in Virginia, receiving a Double B.S. in Physics and Astronomy and a B.A. in English in 2015. I took a year off to work (which I highly recommend for anyone interested in graduate school), and then came to New Mexico Tech in the Fall of 2016 to work on my Ph.D. in Physics with a dissertation in Astrophysics. My current research focuses on the potentially habitability of exoplanets by studying their host stars.
