I’m originally from Iowa, and I did my undergraduate studies there as well. I graduate from Iowa State University with a BS in Physics in 2014. After a year off of studies doing research, I came to New Mexico Tech in the Fall of 2015 as a PhD student in Physics, with a dissertation in Astrophysics. My dissertation is about the theory of mass loss in Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) stars. Understanding the evolution of these stars is key to understanding how stars like our sun eventually evolve and contribute to the chemical make-up of our galaxy.
