Bio

Dr. Kerop D. Janoyan is an accomplished educator, researcher, and academic leader with extensive experience guiding complex institutional portfolios across academic affairs, research development, and strategic partnerships. Known for his collaborative leadership style and commitment to transparent, engaged decision-making, he has advanced initiatives that strengthen undergraduate, graduate, and professional education while promoting interdisciplinary research and institutional sustainability. He currently serves as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at California State University, Long Beach, and previously served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of La Verne and in senior leadership roles at Clarkson University, including Dean of the Graduate School, inaugural Director of Distance Learning, and Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Dr. Janoyan earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is a licensed Professional Engineer in California and a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers. His scholarship focuses on intelligent and sustainable infrastructure and clean energy systems and includes extensive publications and externally funded research supported by industry partners, foundations, and state and federal agencies. He has mentored numerous students who have gone on to distinguished professional and academic careers. He also served as a Fellow of the AGB Institute for Leadership & Governance in Higher Education and as a By-Fellow of Churchill College at the University of Cambridge.
