NMT Ranked No. 2 Nationally in Best Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Programs

SOCORRO, N.M. -- Best Accredited Colleges recently released rankings that named the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology No. 2 on the list of Best Mechanical Engineering Bachelor's Degree Programs. The rankings are based on several different categories such as financial aid, alternative tuition plans, tuition cost, retention rates, student-faculty ratio, and admittance rates. According to the website, “Our rankings highlight schools that put these needs first, while providing an education that is both attainable and high quality.” (Best Accredited Colleges’ ranking methodology). 

Other notable universities ranked Best Accredited Colleges include SUNY Polytechnic Institute (No. 12), Purdue University (No. 18), University of Oklahoma (No. 21), University of Alabama (No. 23), University of Kentucky (No. 26), Virginia Tech (29), California Poly-San Luis Obispo (No. 30), University of Alabama-Huntsville (No. 33), Georgia Institute of Technology (No. 34), Auburn University (No. 38), California State Poly-Pomona (No. 43).

These rankings only reflect colleges accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). NMT has been accredited by ABET since 2000. Programs accredited by ABET meet the global standards of the profession and are recognised world wide.
