New Mexico Tech Board of Regents Announces Presidential Search

SOCORRO, N.M. — The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology Board of Regents (Board) announced on January 14, 2026, that they will begin a search to select the university’s next president.

The Board may conduct the search as a local or national search, consistent with state law and the Board’s governing authority.

“Selecting a president is one of the Board’s most important responsibilities,” said Dr. David Lepre, Sr., Chair of the Board of Regents. “We are committed to a transparent process that supports the long-term success of New Mexico Tech.”

Dr. Michael Jackson will continue to serve as Interim President during the search to ensure continuity of leadership and operations.
