In June, Master's student Rita Vigil and her professor Julie Ford competed in the State Senior Games.

Both Julie Ford (Mechanical Engineering faculty and EMRTC), and her student Rita Vigil (a NM classroom teacher pursuing a Master’s in Science Teaching) competed in the New Mexico State Senior Games. Success came to both: Vigil won both the 5k and the 10k road races in her age group. But Dr. Ford was no slouch. She finished second in her age group in the same races as well.

Both have qualified for the National Senior Olympics in 2025, to be held in Des Moines, Iowa.
