Global Village Day showcases international students at NM Tech
Feb. 26, 2024
For Global Village Day on Feb. 22, 2024, students created displays that show the life, culture and history of their country. Flags draped the staircase of the atrium in Fidel Center, and the cafeteria even put some international flair on the menu.
Global Village Day is a chance for the international students of New Mexico Tech to
take front and center. The STEM university attracts students from around the world
to study and do research among some of the best scientists in the world. While living
in Socorro, they are eager to share culture, make new friends, and bring a little
bit of their home to the high desert.
At New Mexico Tech has 139 international students, hailing from 27 different countries
on five continents. By next fall semester, there will be around 200 international
students enrolled.
