New Mexico Tech mineral engineering professor William Chavez was quoted by the Wall St. Journal in the Aug. 25 article, "Eyeing an Electric Vehicle Boom, Venture Investors Back Mining Startups." The article discusses venture capital now being invested in biochemical, robotics and hard-tech companies focused on finding and extracting precious materials. Chavez makes the point that there is still uncertainty in these investments as the technology for sourcing EV batteries is still in development.
