"New Mexico has become a major corridor for a variety of industries. Nationally, the need to fill tech positions has become problematic. Business in IT, cybersecurity and app development has increased at a pace with which education cannot keep up. 

To answer those needs, institutions throughout the state are incorporating STEM as well as STEAM education models at younger and younger ages.  

Starting with APS and continuing all the way through graduate and certificate programs, the standard model of education is changing.  

The challenge, many employers in New Mexico find, is to keep talented young minds from leaving the state. ... "
