“This is the first time their president has been to visit us,” Voegerl said.

“We’re working on an agreement to bring in students and faculty,” Voegerl added. “The students will do two semesters at Hohai University, and then they’ll do two semesters at Tech. They’ll get an undergraduate degree from Hohai University, and then they can stay and pursue a master’s certificate or a master’s degree. It will help increase enrollment here at Tech. It will increase the dollars that are spent in Socorro.”

Voegerl said Hohai wanted to pursue a relationship with New Mexico Tech because Tech has one of the top hydrology departments in the country.
