To salute area teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week in May, the Rio Rancho Observer asked administrators at the city’s two largest high schools to nominate two respected and deserving teachers.

Shawnee Legere was one of two awardees. She has been a math teacher at Cleveland High School since it opened in 2009.

The article, which appears on the Albuquerque Journal website, includes a lengthy interview with Legere, who earned a degree at New Mexico Tech.

In the online article, she is pictured at her desk in her office, proudly displaying a New Mexico Tech pennant on the wall.
