NMT chemistry and computer science student is the founder of C.E.L.L. (Chemical Experimentation Laboratories and Labor), a start-up that produces specialized laboratory equipment and supplies. ABF recently profiled him on their website and in their Inno Under 25 issue.

In the article, Lyon said, "When people think of innovation, they like to think of fancy new technologies or something that's on the forefront, something completely new. That is innovation, but it's not the only form of innovation. Sure, you could develop new theories or new practices or find a new chemical interaction, but really what I think innovation is is taking these pieces that people have found before us and finding a new
way to put them together.

"For example, the dye that I use in my coats — it's not really a new dye, and it's not a new idea to develop lab coats, but combining the idea of using a dye with a coat is a new concept. It's not something that's been done before. That's something that was relatively simple to do but very hard to think of. I think that really is what innovation is."

After graduation, Lyon will pursue advanced training at the National Test Pilot School in Mohave, California, and aspires to be an astronaut.
