January 2022 NMT Building Access for Students

January 2022 NMT Building Access for Students

During the month of January 2022, all full-time and part-time, on-campus students are required to go through the Spring 2022 Campus Check-in process prior to engaging on-campus or entering campus buildings regardless of their vaccination status. At the Check-in, students must provide proof of a negative test result of an approved COVID-19 test that was administered no more than 96-hours (4-days) prior to entering any University-owned building.  Once students successfully check-in, they will receive a Designated Campus Access Lanyard (DCAL) to confirm they completed the requirement.

This lanyard, displaying the student’s NMT Student ID card must be appropriately worn anytime they need to enter a University building during the month of January.  Appropriate and properly fitted masks must also be worn indoors in accordance with Tech policy.

All students working on campus or living in University Housing during the remainder of the Winter Break (January 4 through January 12, 2022) are required to officially check-in starting January 4, 2022, and receive their DCAL.  Other students needing access to campus offices or buildings must first check-in and receive a DCAL or conduct their needed business remotely (via telephone or email) until they have a DCAL. Students must wear their DCAL when attending the first two weeks of their face-to-face classes.

Special Note: The only exception to this University policy is when students have their appropriate negative test results in-hand and they need to enter the Fidel Student Center to get check-in. Otherwise, students without a DCAL are not permitted in Tech’s buildings during this return to campus time period. Residents living in Campus Housing must follow related procedures established by the Office of Residential Life

Spring 2022 Semester Check-in Times:

Please consider coming back to campus a bit earlier to ensure you can get tested and receive your results so you can Check-in in a timely fashion and make it to the first day of classes.
