The Petroleum Engineering Department welcomed prospective students and their families during NMT’s Exploration Day on October 25, 2025!
Our students have completed the Fundamentals of Well Control course provided by Wild WellControl.
Because of your generosity, our petroleum engineering students at New Mexico Tech continue to benefit from abundant opportunities to learn, grow, and excel. We are sincerely grateful for your recent donation to have additional electronics installed in our MSEC 367 multi-purpose classroom.
Our department worked with the delegation from University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) - Ghana
On Friday March 6, 2020 we held our in-house paper contest. We had 11 contestants, and we want to give a big round of applause to all who presented!

Our SPE ATCE Alumni Reception was filled with laughter, memories, and great conversations as alumni, students, and faculty from the Petroleum Engineering Department at NMT gathered to reconnect and share stories.
The AADE Permian Basin Chapter has donated $50,444.79 to the NMT's Petroleum Department to fund the remodel of MSEC 367.

Our AADE student chapter has just completed a field trip in Midland, TX. The field trip was hosted by Chevron and 100% sponsored by the AADE Permian Basin Parent Chapter. Also Thanks to Fasken Oil and Ranch for hosting the drilling rig tour.
