Mark Person attended a United Nations Conference and expert consultants workshop focused on exploring unconventional water resources in Madrid, Spain

The United Nations projects that by 2030, two thirds of the global population will experience water shortages. The working group and conference explored the feasibility of developing a wide variety of unconventional sources of freshwater including desalination, toeing of tabular ice bergs from Antarctica to South Africa, as well as production of offshore fresh-brackish water sequestered on the continental shelf (Person area of interest). For full symposium report, visit: http://www.fao.org/land-water/events/ncwsymposium19/en/
