Mozart and Friends (Mon. 28 Apr, 2014 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm)

New Mexico Tech presents the 2014 Performance Program, with several upcoming concerts. "Mozart and Friends" will stage "Lunch at the Opera" on April 28 at the Macey Center recital hall during the lunch hour.

Biology Seminar (Mon. 28 Apr, 2014 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Dr. Tom Kieft, New Mexico Tech biology professor ,will speak on his recent research for the Biology Department seminar. His talk is titled "Big Fleas Have a Predictable Number of Little Fleas: Allometry of Animal-Microbe Symbioses." 4 p.m. in Jones-Annex 101. Everyone is welcome.

Chamber Orchestra Concert (Mon. 28 Apr, 2014 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

New Mexico Tech presents the 2014 Performance Program, with several upcoming concerts. The Tech Chamber Orchestra will perform at 6 p.m. at the Macey Center recital hall.

Association for Computing Machinery meeting (Mon. 28 Apr, 2014 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm)

Join the Tech student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery, the premier professional society for computer scientists. Weekly meetings are at 8 p.m. Mondays in Cramer 101. Meetings include technical lectures and planning for events including programming competitions, outreach activities, game jams, and other items.

Arash Kheyraddini Mousavi, PhD Candidate from UNM, will present the Mechanical Engineering Department graduate/faculty seminar. His talk is titled "Stiction Failure of Micro-electro-mechanical Systems (MEMS)."  2 p.m. in Cramer 124

Evening at the Opera (Tue. 29 Apr, 2014 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm)

New Mexico Tech presents the 2014 Performance Program, with several upcoming concerts. "An Evening at the Opera" will feature "Moteverdi L'Orfeo" at 6 p.m. at the Macey Center recital hall.

Spring Arts Festival (Wed. 30 Apr, 2014 10:00 am - 3:00 pm)

The Community Education Department presents the semiannual Arts Festival, highlighting the art work, music, and dance created by Tech students and instructors. Stop by for a light lunch and view the beautiful art work on display or purchase a unique Mother's Day gift. Watch the Et Alia Belly Dancers, get a $5 massage and listen to the band "Miserable Crush." Art will include Glass, pottery, fiber arts, metal arts and jewelry. Refreshments and light lunch buffet will be served. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Fidel Center.

Mechanical Engineering Thesis Defense (Wed. 30 Apr, 2014 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

David Souders, graduate student in Mechanical Engineering, will defend his thesis, "Analytical and Computational Investigations of Wave Energy in Linera and Non-Linear Regimes." 2 p.m. in Weir 132. 

Do-it-yourself Bike Repair (Wed. 30 Apr, 2014 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

The New Mexico Tech Bicycle Club hosts a bike repair afternoon every Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Macey Center loading dock.. The club has tools for you to do your own repairs. Club members are on hand to offer advice.

Wednesday Hump/Pump Theme Day (Wed. 30 Apr, 2014 7:00 pm)

Working out doesn’t always have to be so serious. Every Wednesday in April, have some fun during your gym time and dress up to the suggested “Hump Day/Pump Day” theme. This Wednesday, April 30 is Hawaiian Theme. You can finally wear those bright flower patterned shorts you have in the closet. Once again, have some fun.

Daniel A. Hoff will present his master's independent study topic: "Electrostatic Discharge Sensitivity of Sensitized Nitromethane." 4 p.m. in Weir 132.

Santa Fe Opera Apprentices on Tour (Thu. 1 May, 2014 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm)

New Mexico Tech Performing Arts Series presents the Santa Fe Opera Apprentices on Tour, featuring three rising-star opera singers performing excerpts from popular operas and a one-act operetta. Automotive Racing Club Meeting (Thu. 1 May, 2014 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm)

Young Authors Poetry Contest (Sat. 3 May, 2014 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

The Young Authors Poetry Contest will have an awards ceremony for students in pre-kindergarten through high school. This contest is sponsored by the Socorro County Youth Coalition and the CLASS Department at New Mexico Tech. Macey Annex at 3 p.m. on May 3.
