INBRE/Biology Seminar (Mon. 2 Dec, 2013 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Dr. Rama Gullapalli, assistant professor in the Departments of Pathology and Chemical and Nuclear Engineering at the University of New Mexico, will be the featured INBRE/Biology seminar speaker. His presentation is "Personalized Medicine in the 21st century: The Emerging Role of Clinical Pathology." Dr. Gullapalli's abstract is available at 4 p.m. in MSEC 105.

Air Rifle (Mon. 2 Dec, 2013 5:00 pm - 6:45 pm)

The Tech Shooting Club hosts an air rifle practice in the basement of the gym for all who are interested in learning or improving shooting skills. 5 to 6:45 p.m.

Street Hockey (Mon. 2 Dec, 2013 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm)

The Street Hockey club invites anyone interested to join us for some friendly, no contact, street hockey fun! Even if you have never rollerbladed or played hockey before, come see what it is all about! Equipment is provided (limited stock) so you don't have to worry about buying your own. Board of Regents Meeting (Tue. 3 Dec, 2013 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm)

The New Mexico Tech Board of Regents will meet in regular session at 1:30 p.m. at the Albuquerque Country Club, 601 Laguna Blvd SW, Albuquerque. An agenda will be available 10 days prior to the meeting via email at

Faculty Senate (Tue. 3 Dec, 2013 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Faculty Senate regular meetings are the first Tuesday of the month September through April. The May meeting is held to conicide with commencement preparations. 4 p.m. in Workman 101.

Pat Miller Student Investment Club (Tue. 3 Dec, 2013 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

The Pat Miller Student Investment Club meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Speare 116. the club manages a live fund and offers a great way to learn about long-term investment strategies. All are welcome.

Winterfest Art Show & Sale (Wed. 4 Dec, 2013 10:00 am - 4:00 pm)

The New Mexico Tech Community Education program presents the Winterfest Art Show and Sale on Wednesday December 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fidel Building, Ballroom C, New Mexico Tech Campus. Join us for hot mulled cider, holiday cookies, or bowl of posole and browse displays of the beautiful work our students have created this semester. You can also find that perfect holiday gift among the gorgeous, yet low priced, works from our talented students and staff. Or, make your own gifts at our Bead Workshop, where you can create a stunning beaded bookmark or jewelry for that special someone for only $5. Entertainment will include music from Miserable Crush, dance performances and more. Don’t miss this festive event.

The Graduate Student Association is hosting an informational meeting about the New Mexico Health Exchange. The Outreach and Enrollment Specialist for Socorro County will be giving us the pertinent details and answering our questions.  Graduate students, undergraduate students, faculty, staff, and community members are ALL invited! 3 p.m. in  Workman 101.

Moftah El Shawaihdi, graduate student at New Mexico Tech, will present the weekly Earth Science Seminar. His topic is "Geochronology, Petrology, and Stratigraphy of Neogene Units in the Sahabi Area, Northeastern Sirt Basin, Libya." Hosted by Dr. Peter Mozley and Brad Sion. Mechanical Engineering Design Conference (Fri. 6 Dec, 2013 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Everyone is invited to come see the different design projects of the junior and senior Mechanical Engineering Department. Short video presentations start at 1 p.m. Poster presentations will begin immediately after. Come get some pizza when it is all done! Third floor fallrooms of the Fidel Center.

The Computer Science and Engineering Speaker Series presents William Holcomb, who will present “IT System Sabotage: Characterizing and Measuring Malicious Insider Attacks.” Cramer 221 from 3 to 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

Mid-Night Breakfast (Fri. 6 Dec, 2013 11:00 pm - 11:59 pm)

The SAB is sponsoring Mid-Night Breakfast on Friday, December 6. In the past, mid-night breakfast was held on the Sunday before finals week. Since finals begin on Saturday 12/7, the board has decided to change the date. Please come meet the Student Government Association members as they serve you some tasty treats in the dinning hall. This event is FREE to all Tech students with their ID. The event begins at 11:00 PM FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6, and ends at 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.
