Tech Soliciting Comments On Reaccreditation Reports

UPDATE October 7, 2014 -- The reaccreditation team has posted draft documents for two more sections of the New Mexico Tech report. Everyone is invited to review the documents and post comments. Documents are posted at http://bit.ly/1rYzFmA.

The final forums will be at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in Skeen Library 212.

New Mexico Tech's is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission. The HLC has five criteria for accreditation -- two related to the mission, operations and integrity; two related to academics and research; and one related to resources and planning.

The Tech reaccreditation team, led by Dr. Mary Dezember, is currently soliciting comments on criteria 3 and 4. This is an important initiative and Tech employees are urged to review the documents and submit feedback. Forums for criteria 3 and 4 will be at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, in Library 212. Forums for criterion 5 will be at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, in Library 212. However, the accreditation will continue to solicit comments on all criteria at each forum. All feedback is due by 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30.

SOCORRO, N.M. September 11, 2014 – New Mexico Tech is asking the campus community to provide input on draft documents for the ongoing reaccreditation process.

Faculty, staff, alumni and students are encouraged to review the initial round of reports that are posted online. People can comment via the website or attend an open forum to provide suggestions in person. The forums will be at 10 to 11 a.m. and 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in Skeen Library 212.
