Requesting Transcripts

ATTENTION!!

The beginning of the semester is a peak processing time. Processing on ALL transcripts requested will take longer than the normal turn around time, during this time transcripts will be processed on Mondays and Fridays.

In order for your transcript to be released, you must have a $0.00 balance or a credit balance at New Mexico Tech.  Should you have a balance, contact NMT's Student Accounts at gngo@admin.nmt.edu or by phone at 575.835.5338.  Also ask the Student Accounts Office to remove your hold once it has been paid.

Our goal is to have your transcript ready to be picked up or mailed within two working days after your request, except during peak processing periods.

One-time fee of $15 per academic year (academic year August 23 to August 23), payable when first transcript is ordered.  Unlimited transcripts will be issued throughout the rest of the year at no additional charge.  Additional charges may apply  when: 1) you want the transcript faster than two working days or 2) you want the transcript faxed.

You should provide the following information from the downloaded form:

  • Include todays date and the number of transcripts requested
  • Your name. If your name has changed, be sure to tell us the name you had when you attended Tech.
  • Your address and phone number.
  • Your Tech ID or Social Security number
  • The approximate years you attended Tech
  • Complete address(es) of where you want transcript(s) sent
  • If transcript is to be sent to you, whether you want it in a sealed envelope. (Transcripts used for applications usually need to be in a sealed envelope.)
  • YOUR SIGNATURE!

HOW TO PAY FOR AN OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT

  • In person at the Cashier’s Office, Joseph A. Fidel Center, Second Floor
  • By calling the NMT's Cashier's Office at 575.835.5515
  • Mail - check, money order, or cashiers check
  • By Credit Card
    • Include the following information:
      • Type of card
      • Card number
      • Expiration date of your card
      • Your billing zip code
      • Note authorizing us to charge the amount against your account. ( If you are using a parent’s card, that person should write “I’m authorizing [your name] to use my credit card,” and add their signature.)

ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE FORM YOU CAN REQUEST YOUR TRANSCRIPT THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

  • In person at the Registrar’s Office, Joseph A. Fidel Center, Second Floor.
  • By mail at:  New Mexico Tech, Registrar's Office - 801 Leroy Place, Socorro, NM 87801
  • By fax: (575) 835-6511
  • By e-mail
    • We can only accept a transcript request by e-mail if the e-mail contains a scanned copy of the completed transcript form containing your signature. Send your e-mail request to: registrar@admin.nmt.edu.

Rush and Faxed Transcripts

You can request for rush processing which will guarantee 2 days. The fee is an additional $3 and only the first transcript will be processed on orders with more than 1 transcript going to the same address. The transcript is usually sent out or ready to be picked up within one working day, but can take the full 2 days.

All transcripts will be mailed standard mail.

You can also request that we fax a copy of your transcript to a recipient. However, we require the recipient’s physical address and will follow the fax with an official copy of your transcript. The fee is an additional $3.00.
