Step 4: Ensure Compliance
1. Export Control: This is part of your Routing Sheet and must be completed for all proposals.
2. Human Research: If you are doing any kind of research with human subjects, including surveys you will need to complete an IRB (Institutional Review Board) request.
Federal law requires that ALL PROJECT PERSONNEL be trained in human research ethics before they start projects involving human subjects research. When you take the online course, attach your Certificate of Completion to your IRB Application Form.

3. Animal Research: If you are doing any kind of research with animals (navigate to page 31).
4. Hazardous Chemicals and Materials: If you are doing research with hazardous materials.
5. Conflict of Financial Interest: If you believe you have a financial conflict of interest please complete the form.
