President’s Club Banquet
The President’s Club hosts an elegant banquet each year in April to honor and thank all the donors and supporters of New Mexico Tech.

The annual banquet gives supporters an opportunity see the beautiful campus and interact with university administrators, other donors and key staff members. The Fidel Center ballroom is lavishly decorated and members are treated to an evening of fun, relaxation and good company.

Each year, an engaging and entertaining guest speaker presents a short talk related to education and New Mexico Tech. Recent speakers have included Socorro Mayor Dr. Ravi Bhasker, former N.M. Gov. Garrey Carruthers, former Tech President Dr. Larry Lattman and Vice President of Research Dr. Van Romero.

Also, each year President Dr. Daniel H. Lopez presents two awards – a Distinguished Faculty award and a Distinguished Alumni Award. Ken Fagan, a 1961 graduate, was named the 2011 Alumni Award winner for his long-time support of the Petroleum Engineering Department and of the President’s Club.

The 2001 Faculty Award winner is Dr. Michaelann Tartis of the Chemical Engineering Department. Dr. Tartis is a second-generation Tech graduate and a rising star among the faculty.
