SOCORRO, N.M., July 29, 2008 – The President’s Golf Tournament, set for Friday, Sept. 19, at New Mexico Tech Golf Course, is already full.
President Daniel H. López said he is appreciative of the overwhelming support shown by local and statewide businesses and individuals.
“This tournament has helped hundreds of Tech students with scholarships over the past 14 years,” he said. “We are still actively seeking sponsors for the tournament. Your sponsorship and donation will help Tech students continue to pursue their degrees.”
Tournament organizer Colleen Guengerich said the event, which supports the President’s Scholarship Fund, is enjoying unprecedented support.
“We are happy to accommodate people who want to support the tournament and the scholarship fund. Unfortunately, the golf tournament is filled to capacity and we cannot accept any more playing teams,” she said.
The event will have more than 250 golfers in two flights.
