SOCORRO, N.M., Jan. 5, 2006 —The Association of Earth Science Editors (AESE) recently presented the New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources with an Outstanding Publication Award in the electronic publications category for the Bureau’s Bulletin 160, “Tectonics, geochronology, and volcanism in the Southern Rocky Mountains and Rio Grande rift.”
The CD, edited by Steven Cather, William McIntosh, and Shari Kelley, contains a wealth of information on the volcanic history of the Southern Rocky Mountains and the Rio Grande rift in New Mexico and Colorado.
The fifteen papers included on the CD give information on detailed studies on the history of volcanic activity that created some of New Mexico and Colorado’s most distinctive landscape.
Also included on the CD are detailed geologic maps, geochronology tables, geophysical data, and a vast amount of information from new and previously unpublished research.
All of the information contained on this CD is formatted for easy navigation and use. The data can also be easily imported into other software programs for easier manipulation and application.
