by George Zamora SOCORRO, N.M., Aug. 13, 2007 – New Mexico Tech’s Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (EMRTC) is featured prominently in an article in the newest issue of “Popular Science” magazine. EMRTC, a research division at the university in Socorro, was one of five research laboratories from around the nation that were profiled in “Educated Destruction 101 — Five Labs That Make Going to Class the Best Part of College.” The two-page layout focusing on EMRTC includes a pithy description of the research typically conducted throughout the 40-square-mile research facility, as well as a full-color centerfold photograph of New Mexico Tech undergrads working out at a field site and smaller stop-action images of an actual explosives demonstration. -NMT- |
