Piano students of Gaby Benalil of the Tech Humanities Department and Continuing Ed Department will present a free performance. All are welcome. Sunday, November 10, 3 p.m. at the Jean Macey Recital Hall

Music Recital (Mon. 11 Nov, 2013 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Performances of works spanning centuries, including selections from the madrigals of Claudio Monteverdi, Mozart's The Magic Flute and Henry Mancini's theme for the 1963 movie, The Pink Panther. Begins at 4 p.m. with solos and duets on violin, viola and cello, continues at 5 p.m. with vocal ensembles, and culminates at 6 p.m. with a concert by the NMT Orchestra. Admission is free, and all are welcome. Monday, Nov 11, 4 p.m. at the Jean Macey Recital Hall.

Air Rifle (Mon. 11 Nov, 2013 5:00 pm - 6:45 pm)

The Tech Shooting Club hosts an air rifle practice in the basement of the gym for all who are interested in learning or improving shooting skills. 5 to 6:45 p.m.

Street Hockey (Mon. 11 Nov, 2013 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm)

The Street Hockey club invites anyone interested to join us for some friendly, no contact, street hockey fun! Even if you have never rollerbladed or played hockey before, come see what it is all about! Equipment is provided (limited stock) so you don't have to worry about buying your own. Thesis Boot Camp Registration Now Open (Thu. 14 Nov, 2013 1:00 am)

Graduate students who are planning to attend the January Thesis/Dissertation Boot Camp can now submit completed registration forms to Dr. Simpson. (Deadline to register is Friday, Dec. 13.) Forms can be turned in at the Writing Center (017 & 018 Fitch) or electronically to ssimpson@nmt.edu.  The Boot Camp, intended for graduate students who are actively writing their thesis or dissertation, is an intensive writing camp that goes all day every day, January 6 to 10.

Earth Science Seminar (Thu. 14 Nov, 2013 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Dr. Kent Condie of the Earth and Environmental Science Department at Tech will present "Growth of Continents through Time and the Significance of Episodic Zicron Ages." Computer Science Speaker Series (Fri. 15 Nov, 2013 2:30 pm)

All about internships! Three students in the Computer Science and Engineering Department will discuss their experiences as summer interns. Are you searching for a great internship? Come hear about how three of our students learned programming skills while working on future products for the Los Alamos National Laboratory. We will go over a short overview of the Computer Systems, Cluster, and Networking Summer Institute at LANL and how to apply. The students will then talk about their projects. Melanie Palmer will talk on "Network Service Security through Software Defined Networking." William Rosenberger will present "A Comparison of Library Tracking Methods." Blair Crossman will discuss "Functional Assessment of Erasure Coded Storage Archive." 2:30 p.m. in Cramer 221

Mountain Biking 101 (Sat. 16 Nov, 2013 9:45 am - 4:00 pm)

Just getting started on trail riding? The Tech Mountain Biking Club is hosting an afternoon in the mountains with casual instruction, an easy ride and lunch. This is a fun, friendly, non-competitive ride, specifically for beginners and novices who want to learn basic skills from some skilled riders in Socorro. Meet at the Tech pool parking lot at 9:45 a.m., where bikers will shuttle to Water Canyon. Club members will hold a 15-20 minute skills clinic, with Q&A, followed by a ride to Jordan Canyon. This ride will be slow and easy along a forest road (no long climbs or descents). The club will provide lunch at Jordan Canyon, then ride back to Water Canyon. Riders will then drive back to Socorro. Rocky Horror Picture Show Double Feature (Sat. 16 Nov, 2013 8:30 pm - Sun. 17 Nov, 2013 1:30 am)

Transvestite Preservation Society!  First show begins at 9 p.m. Intermission from 10:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Preshow from 11 p.m. to midnight. Rocky at midnight. IDs will be checked at the door, 18 years or older. Canned goods will be accepted as donations for the homeless shelter.
