Air Rifle (Mon. 4 Nov, 2013 5:00 pm - 6:45 pm)

The Tech Shooting Club hosts an air rifle practice in the basement of the gym for all who are interested in learning or improving shooting skills. 5 to 6:45 p.m.

Street Hockey (Mon. 4 Nov, 2013 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm)

The Street Hockey club invites anyone interested to join us for some friendly, no contact, street hockey fun! Even if you have never rollerbladed or played hockey before, come see what it is all about! Equipment is provided (limited stock) so you don't have to worry about buying your own. Faculty Senate regular meetings are the first Tuesday of the month September through April. The May meeting is held to conicide with commencement preparations. 4 p.m. in Workman 101.

Pat Miller Student Investment Club (Tue. 5 Nov, 2013 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

The Pat Miller Student Investment Club meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Speare 116. the club manages a live fund and offers a great way to learn about long-term investment strategies. All are welcome.

NMT Chemistry Symposium (Wed. 6 Nov, 2013 8:00 am - 7:00 pm)

The 2013 Fall Chemistry Symposium will be all day Wednesday, Nov. 6, in Workman 101. the event kicks off with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. Following the day's talks, a poster session will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Fidel Center, followed by a reception, banquet and keynote talk by Dr. Michael Heagy of New Mexico Tech, also in the Fidel Center ballroom.

Earth Science Seminar (Thu. 7 Nov, 2013 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Holly Rotman, doctoral student at New Mexico Tech, will present the weekly Earth Science Seminar. She will present "Subduction Zone Thermal Models with Fluid Flow Effects" Hosted by Dr. Glenn Spinelli and Nicole McMahon. Sponsored by the Earth and Environmental Science Department. 4 p.m. in MSEC 101.

Physics Seminar (Thu. 7 Nov, 2013 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Dr. Mark Derzon from Sandia National Labs is the guest for the Physics Department seminar. He will present "A Brief Overview of Research Into Radiation Source Development and Radiation Sensors in the Microfabrication program at Sandia National Laboratories," Microfabrication offers some unique opportunities to build radiation sources as well as sensors to understand certain plasma physics problems from the astronomical to the useful, such as fusion. This technology may allow for relevant, low cost facilities for high-throughput plasma studies. Interests takes us to the Crab Nebula, where many of the structures that are formed arise from the Rayleigh-Taylor Instability or natural creation of a pinch plasma, see ther solar flare in the photo. These same phenomenon are observed in smaller scale laboratory work. 4 p.m. in Workman 101

Fall 2013 Student Forum (Thu. 7 Nov, 2013 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm)

The Student Government Association (SGA) invites students to talk with administrators to discuss any issues or concerns they may have regarding campus life. New Mexico Philharmonic (Fri. 8 Nov, 2013 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm)

The New Mexico Tech Performing Arts Series presents the New Mexico Philharmonic, performing works by Bach with violin soloist Krzysztof Zimowski, conductor Christopher Confessore and a chamber orchestra composed of strings, flute, oboes, trumpets, timpani, and harpsichord. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $10 for children and free for Tech students. 7:30 p.m. at Macey Center.

New Mexico Tech ASME Chapter (Sat. 9 Nov, 2013 9:00 am - 3:00 pm)

Inaugural Golf Tournament and Fundraiser hosted by ASME Chapter   November 9 at the New Mexico Tech Golf Course. Tee off at 9 a.m., followed by lunch and an awards ceremony at the club house. There will be various opportunities to win prizes at each hole.
