Air Rifle (Mon. 23 Sep, 2013 5:00 pm - 6:45 pm)

The Tech Shooting Club hosts an air rifle practice in the basement of the gym for all who are interested in learning or improving shooting skills. 5 to 6:45 p.m.

Street Hockey (Mon. 23 Sep, 2013 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm)

The Street Hockey club invites anyone interested to join us for some friendly, no contact, street hockey fun! Even if you have never rollerbladed or played hockey before, come see what it is all about! Equipment is provided (limited stock) so you don't have to worry about buying your own. Presidential Chamber Music Series (Mon. 23 Sep, 2013 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm)

The Performing Arts Series presents the first of four chamber music concerts, featuring host and violist Willy Sucre. This edition will highlight string quartets. Admission is free. 7:30 p.m. at Macey Center

The Graduate Student Association will meet in Library 212 to discuss Thanksgiving, along with several items items of interest. 1 p.m.

Mechanical Engineering Seminar (Tue. 24 Sep, 2013 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

One of New Mexico Tech graduates will be speaking at the next graduate/faculty seminar. Brandon Runnels, currently enrolled at Caltech, will present " An Analytical Model for Predicting Energy and Morphology of Arbitrary Crystal Interfaces." 2 p.m. in Cramer 124.

Pat Miller Student Investment Club (Tue. 24 Sep, 2013 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

The Pat Miller Student Investment Club meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Speare 116. the club manages a live fund and offers a great way to learn about long-term investment strategies. All are welcome.

Board of Regents Meeting (Thu. 26 Sep, 2013 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm)

The New Mexico Tech Board of Regents will meet in regular session at 1:30 p.m. at the new Torres Residence Hall. An agenda will be available 10 days prior to the meeting via email at pio@nmt.edu.

Torres Hall Dedication (Thu. 26 Sep, 2013 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm)

New Mexico Tech administrators and the Board of Regents will officially dedicate the new dormitory as the Steve Torres Hall. 4 p.m. at the entrance. All are welcome to attend.

Physics Seminar (Thu. 26 Sep, 2013 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Dr. Ken Minschwaner, professor in the Department of Physics at Tech, will present the department seminar.  Over the past six weeks, Minschwaner and a team of students have launched 30 balloon-borne instrument packages as part of the SEACIONS (Southeast American Consortium for Intensive Ozonesonde Network Study) project. This field campaign involved balloon flights from eight sites across the southern and central U.S., which were timed to coincide with overpasses of the NASA Aura Earth Observing Satellite. SEACIONS is part of a larger NASA project called SEAC4RS (Studies of Emissions and Atmospheric Composition, Clouds and Climate Coupling by Regional Surveys). This project aims to validate satellite measurements, improve understanding of convective and wave signatures in ozone, study interactions of urban pollution with convection, and derive empirical tropospheric ozone budgets. Minschwaner will present some of our preliminary findings. 4 p.m. in Workman 101.

The Purchasing Office is hosting a retirement party for Bill Schattschneider, Friday, Sept. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. in Brown 210, with slideshow, video, finger foods and cake. Everyone is welcome.

International Student Green Chile Roast (Fri. 27 Sep, 2013 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm)

The Writing and Oral Presentation Center and the Office of International Programs are hosting a green chile roast for international students and their families. Come learn about New Mexico's signature food! (American students are more than welcome to join us!) Rally Cross (Sat. 28 Sep, 2013 8:00 am - 4:00 pm)

The New Mexico Tech Automotive Racing Club will host a rally cross event at the mudbog pit. Anyone with a vehicle and a driver's license is welcome to enter. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Alpha Sigma Kappa Car Wash (Sat. 28 Sep, 2013 10:00 am - 2:00 pm)

The ladies of Alpha Sigma Kappa are having a carwash! It will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in from the Napa Auto Center. 

Minecraft Club 'Block Party' (Sat. 28 Sep, 2013 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

Come and prove your worth in a Minecraft tournament, preceded by multiplayer minigames and team matches!  Both light and heavy players are invited to join and compete in team and single player matches to try and win one of several prizes!  Starting at 1 p.m. in the SAC.
