Electrical Engineering Seminar (Mon. 25 Mar, 2013 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

Dr. Ranjan Singh, a scientist from Los Alamos National Laboratory, will speak on "Metamaterial Technology Inspired Ultrafast Photonic Devices." 2 p.m. in Workman 101.

INBRE/Biology Seminar (Mon. 25 Mar, 2013 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Connor Cameron is a researcher at the National Center for Genome Resources in Santa Fe and Tech biology graduate. He will be the featured speaker for the Biology Department/INBRE seminar. His talk is titled "Applications and Assembly Techniques Utilizing Multiple Generations of Sequencing Data." 4 p.m. in MSEC 195.

Presidential Chamber Music Series Piano Quartets (Mon. 25 Mar, 2013 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm)

The Performing Arts Series presents the fourth and final Presidential Chamber Music Series of the season. This performance is piano quartets. Enjoy renowned chamber music hosted by violist Willy Sucre. Free admission. 7:30 p.m. at Macey Center.

Dr. Walter Gerstle, professor of Civil Engineering at the University of New Mexico will present the graduate/faculty seminar in the Mechanical Engineering Department. His talk is titled "Simulation of Composites Using Micropolar Peridynamic Hexagonal Lattice Model." 2 p.m. in Cramer 124.

Three Minute Speech Competition (Wed. 27 Mar, 2013 10:00 am - 11:00 am)

Students in Communication 589 (Communication for Mechanical Engineering) will participate in a  speech competition where they present their thesis research in three minutes and with one static PowerPoint slide and are judged on comprehension, engagement, and delivery. 10 a.m. in Cramer 124

Dr. Houbing Song from West Virginia Institute of Technology will speak on "Signal Processing and Control for Communications and Networking towards Sustainable Development." 2 p.m. in Workman 101.

Bike Club Wrench-A-Thon (Wed. 27 Mar, 2013 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

Students, staff, and community are welcome to bring their bikes for minor repairs. You do the work, but the NMT Bike Club will provide tools, instructions, and minor parts. No charge, but donations are appreciated. 4 to 6 p.m. at the Macey Center loading dock.

St. Patrick's Catholic Newman Center (Wed. 27 Mar, 2013 7:00 pm)

The Newman Center at New Mexico Tech is a Catholic organization which serves students seeking to grow in their faith. Meetings include fellowship, discussions, and dinner. All are welcome! 7 p.m. at the Newman Center on School of Mines Road.

InterVarsity Large Group (Wed. 27 Mar, 2013 8:30 pm)

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship's large group meeting is a time for communal growth and personal transformation. It can involve anything from thought-provoking messages to worship nights, from quiet evenings of prayer to loud games.  Everyone is welcome! 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday at the SAC.

Python 02 classes will be held every Thursday from 4 to 4:50 p.m. in Speare 116. 

Earth Science Seminar (Thu. 28 Mar, 2013 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Dr. Larry Crumpler is the research curator for volcanology and space science at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. He will present the Earth and Environmental Science Department seminar, titled "Ten Years of Field Geology on Mars." Hosted by Dr. Penny Boston. 4 p.m. in MSEC 101. 

March Madness (Thu. 28 Mar, 2013 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

Auxiliary Services is hosting March Madness parties on selected evenings throughout the tournament. Tech will have free popcorn and prizes for the most accurate brackets. Join us in the Fidel Center from 5 to 8 p.m. on weekdays to watch hoops and root for your favorite team.

Swing Dance (Thu. 28 Mar, 2013 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm)

Weekly Swing Dance held in the SAC hosted by the New Mexico Tech Ballroom Dance Club. Everyone is welcome. Lessons are held before the dance most nights. 8 to 10:30 p.m.

NMT Auto Racing Club Meeting (Thu. 28 Mar, 2013 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm)

The NMT Automotive Racing Club (NMTARC) meets weekly at 8 p.m. Thursdays in Workman 101. Come and help plan for upcoming autocrosses, rallycrosses, cruises, and shop nights. Everyone is welcome to join! Contact us at nmtarc@nmt.edu.
