ACUI Billiards Local Qualifier (Sun. 11 Nov, 2012 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm)

The Billy Aards Club is organizing the local qualifying tournament for the national ACUI collegiate 9-ball tournament. Qualifiers will advance to the regional competition, with a chance to go to nationals. In the game room in the Fidel Center

NMT Pre-Medical Society Meeting (Tue. 13 Nov, 2012 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm)

Guest speaker, Dr. Katherine Gnauck, emergency pediatrician at UNM Hospital, will provide a presentation on her experience with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). Dr. Gnauck began working with the organization in 2003 when she spent six months as a field doctor in Khartoum, Sudan opening an emergency medical, hygiene and nutrition program. She completed another field project in Uganda in the fall 2005 assisting in the evaluation of a Prevention of Maternal to the Child Transmission (PMTCT) AIDS project. In the U.S., she advocates MSF interests locally with outreach lectures to university and community based groups. 7 p.m. in Jones Annex

St. Patrick's Catholic Newman Center (Wed. 14 Nov, 2012 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

The Newman Center at New Mexico Tech is a Catholic organization which serves students seeking to grow in their faith. Meetings include fellowship, discussions, and dinner. All are welcome. 7 p.m. at the Newman Center on School of Mines Road. 

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (Wed. 14 Nov, 2012 8:45 pm - 10:15 pm)

Auto Racing Club Meeting (Thu. 15 Nov, 2012 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm)

The New Mexico Tech Auto Racing Club has weekly meetings at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays in Workman 101. Club members discuss upcoming events, vehicle maintenance and other topics related to auto racing. All are welcome to join.

Swing Dance (Thu. 15 Nov, 2012 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm)

Weekly swing dance held in the SAC. Everyone is welcome. Lessons held before the dance most nights. 8 to 10:30 p.m.

Verge Fund Speaker Series (Fri. 16 Nov, 2012 11:00 am - 12:00 pm)

Kim Sanchez-Rael is the guest speaker for the Verge Fund Speaker Series, which is a partnership between New Mexico Tech and the Verge Fund. Kim has over 19 years of entrepreneurial start-up, executive management, policy and venture investing experience. She focuses on investments in optics, energy, and water. She has particular strengths in growing product-based companies; improving management, operations, and financing; and building public-private partnerships. Kim currently represents Flywheel on three company boards. Prior to Flywheel, she was a co-founder, investor and executive at Qynergy Corporation and served in executive management positions at Intel Corporation.   Kim received a BA from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford University. 11 a.m. in MSEC 105.

Global Village Day (Fri. 16 Nov, 2012 11:00 am - 3:00 pm)

Explore Tech's cultural diversity at Global Village Day! The event will feature exhibits of the many cultures at Tech, performances, door prizes, music, food, and more. Get your "passport" to have stamped at each country's booth. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the East Gym.

Regents Meeting (Fri. 16 Nov, 2012 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm)

The New Mexico Tech Board of Regents will meet in regular session at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 16, at the Albuquerque Country Club, 601 Laguna Blvd SW, Albuquerque. A complete agenda will be available at the Office of the President, Brown Hall 217, or by email at pio@nmt.edu. An executive session is scheduled to discuss personnel and legal matters.

Game Room Tournament (Fri. 16 Nov, 2012 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

The game room is hosting tournaments, including billiards, poker, and ping pong. The winners of each section will win prizes and will be eligible enter the final tournament at the end of the semester. Sign up in the Game Room.

Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble (Fri. 16 Nov, 2012 7:30 pm)

The Performing Arts series presents the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, an award-winning company inspired by the African-American experience. Free for Tech students. General Admission: $16/Adult; $14/Senior; $8/Youth. 7:30 p.m. at Macey Center.
