2012 Boob Bop 50's Sock Hop (Tue. 9 Oct, 2012 11:00 am - 3:00 pm)

The 2012 Boob Bop is a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which donates billions to the effort to end breast cancer throughout the world.
Come and enjoy carnival games, movies, 50's diner foods, prizes, and more! Step into our photo booth to capture and keep your memories. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Fidel Student Services Center. Bring your quarters, your greased up hair, and your poodle skirts to help us save the tatas at the 2012 BOOB BOP!

St. Patrick's Catholic Newman Center (Wed. 10 Oct, 2012 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

The Newman Center at New Mexico Tech is a Catholic organization which serves students seeking to grow in their faith. Meetings include fellowship, discussions, and dinner. All are welcome. 7 p.m. at the Newman Center on School of Mines Road. 

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (Wed. 10 Oct, 2012 8:45 pm - 10:15 pm)

National Coming Out Day Discussion (Thu. 11 Oct, 2012 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm)

The Women's Resource Center is hosting a talk by Catherine DeMaria of the Behavioral Research Center of the Southwest to coincide with National Coming Out Day. She will moderate a discussion of how to deal with depression and other effects of discrimination. Join the event at 12:30 p.m. in Fitch 106/107! Verge Fund Speaker Series (Fri. 12 Oct, 2012 11:00 am - 12:00 pm)

Lawrence Chavez is the guest speaker for the Verge Fund Speaker Series, which is an ongoing partnership between New Mexico Tech and the Verge Fund. Chavez is an investor and Venture Partner in Flywheel Ventures. In 2010 he took on his current position at Lotus Leaf after several years as an entrepreneur and manager. His company makes hydrophyllic and hydrophobic coatings for industry. Lawrence sits on several company and non-profit boards. He earned his M.B.A. in Marketing, International Business from Texas A&M University and B.A. in Accountancy from New Mexico State University. 11 a.m. in MSEC 105.
