Physics Dissertation Defense (Wed. 2 Jul, 2014 9:00 am - 10:00 am)

Josh Marvil, doctoral student in the Department of Physics, will defend his dissertation, "The Radio Continuum of Star-Forming Galaxies: New Observations and Analysis." This project is a two-part investigation into the radio continuum of local galaxies, the purpose of which is to better understand how spectral features are related to physical conditions and star formation activity. 9 a.m. at the NRAO. 

Earth Science Thesis Defense (Wed. 2 Jul, 2014 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

Emily Woolsey, master's student in the Earth and Environmental Science Department, will defend her thesis. Her presentation is titled "Hydrologic Modeling Assessment of Deep Regional Flow Systems Within The Albuquerque Basin Using Thermal, Geochemical, and Geomechanical Tracers." 2 p.m. in MSEC 105.

4th of July Concert & Fireworks (Fri. 4 Jul, 2014 11:00 am - 10:00 pm)

New Mexico Tech Performing Arts Series and EMRTC present a day of excellent New Mexico music, family fun, jump balloons, water slides, and food vendors, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.  Free admission. 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. North of Macey Center. SGA Pool Party (Fri. 4 Jul, 2014 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

The pool party is open to all students and the community. There will be free food, music and tons of summer fun. So come out and make a splash on independence day! This event will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the NMT pool.
