Dr. Stephen Wells

New Mexico Tech's 17th President

This historic induction ceremony is the first in the 127 years of the school. Dr. Wells took the reins at Tech in July as the first new president in over 23 years.

Dr. Wells will be presented with the newly-created Presidential Medal and keys to the university. The keynote speaker will be former Tech president Dr. Larry Lattman, who was Wells’ graduate school advisor when both were at the University of Cincinnati.

There is a celebration immediately following the ceremony, scheduled to start around 5:30 p.m. The celebration will be outside of Macey Center, will feature live music and refreshments, and is open to the general public.

The event is free, but tickets are required. Students, employees and community members can get tickets at the NMT Bookstore and Socorro City Hall. There will be a live webcast of the event in the third-floor ballrooms of the Fidel Center.
