NM Tech Names Five Finalists for V.P. of Academic Affairs Position

Finalists chosen from pool of more than 40 candidates

SOCORRO, N.M. – The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology will host five finalists for the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs from Aug. 16-31.

Each candidate will meet with various constituencies on campus, including faculty, staff, administrators, students and community residents. Their visit will conclude with a formal interview with New Mexico Tech President, Dr. Stephen Wells.

The search committee selected the five finalists from a pool of over 40 candidates.

They are as follows:

9 a.m. Council of Chairs

• This session will include a ten-minute presentation to include the candidate’s philosophy and vision for New Mexico Tech’s academic affairs division, followed by a Q&A session.

10 a.m. Faculty Senate ‘meet & greet’ with Q&A session, Galena Room, Macey Center

11 a.m. New Mexico Tech community ‘meet & greet,’ Galena Room, Macey Center

Noon -- Luncheon with Richard Cervantes, V.P. of Administration & Finance, Melissa Jaramillo Fleming, V.P. of Student & University Relations, Dr. Van Romero, V.P. of Research & Economic Development, and Dr. Ken Minschwaner, Search Committee Chair

1:30 p.m. Tour of New Mexico Tech campus

3 p.m. Interview with New Mexico Tech President, Dr. Stephen Wells, Brown Hall
