New Mexico Tech president Dr. Daniel H. Lopez said the university is fortunate to establish a relationship with someone like Udell.

“It’s especially gratifying to have someone of his caliber who is familiar with working with universities and other intellectual property licensing groups,” Lopez said. “This is especially important at this juncture at New Mexico Tech because we are excited about the many new discoveries at our university and about commercializing them to the world.”

Dr. Peter Anselmo, director of the Center for Leadership in Technology Commercialization, said Larry is already working with Tech faculty on taking new discoveries to the marketplace. Udell will be on campus several times each semester to host seminars with faculty and students and help with projects.

“I’m excited because we need his expertise,” Anselmo said. “His professional networks will enhance our efforts at the Center. We need people to know about New Mexico Tech and Larry can really help with that.”

“The CLTC is at the stage where we are poised for major growth, and Larry will be a big help with that through his expertise in developing technology commercialization efforts at other leading universities and his extensive and impressive contact network,” Anselmo said.
