HLC Site Visit Preparatory/Discussion Meetings

The Higher Learning Commission peer reviewer team for New Mexico Tech's reaffirmation of accreditation process will be visiting campus and meeting with administration, faculty, staff and students on several topics March 23 and 24.

The topics and times have yet to be confirmed; however, we should be able to expect an open forum for students, for staff and for faculty.

In addition, the meetings on the Criteria for Accreditation are open to all.

In preparation for the site visit, the following meetings are open to faculty, students, staff and will be in the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (Speare 113):

Thursday, March 5 - 1 to 2 p.m. – Federal Compliance
Thursday, March 5 – 3 to 4 p.m. – Assurance Process
Thursday, March 5 – 4 to 5 p.m. – Retention and Completion
Friday, March 6 – 1 to 2 p.m. – Criteria for Accreditation and Assumed Practice
Friday, March 6 – 2 to 3 p.m. – Integrated Planning and Assessment
Friday, March 6 – 3 to 4 p.m. – Distance and Correspondence Education
Monday, March 9 – 9 to 10 a.m. – Integrated Planning and Assessment
Tuesday, March 10 – 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. – Council of Chairs
Wednesday, March 11 – 1 to 2 p.m. -- Integrated Planning and Assessment
Wednesday, March 11 – 2 to 3 p.m. – Strategic Planning
Wednesday, March 11 – 3 to 4 p.m. – Criteria for Accreditation and Assumed Practice

It is helpful to become familiar with the institute's Assurance Argument, the HLC Criteria for Accreditation, and HLC Assumed Practices for Institutions of Higher Education, which are found on the NMT Accreditation webpage at the link below. Federal Compliance information is also provided on the webpage.

The accreditation report, called the Assurance Argument, is written according to the Core Components and sub-components of the five Criteria for Accreditation.
