Governor Appoints Two New Regents At Tech

SANTA FE, N.M. March 3, 2011 – Gov. Susana Martinez has appointed two people to the Board of Regents for New Mexico Tech.

Deborah Peacock of Albuquerque was appointed to the board and Omar Soliman was named as the student regent at New Mexico Tech.

Peacock is the managing partner and president of Peacock Myers P.C., specializing in intellectual property rights. She replaces Ann Murphy Daily, who had served more than two terms on the Board, having been appointed in 1997.

A native of Socorro, Soliman is working on a bachelor's in computer science and engineering. He is the son of professor Dr. Hamdy Soliman and Azza Ezzat, science teacher at Socorro High School. He replaces Will Villanueva.

These two appointments still must be confirmed by the N.M. Senate before they become official
