Cal Receives Achievement Award, April 21, 2001
SOCORRO, N.M., April 21, 2001 -- Dr. Mark Cal, assistant professor of environmental engineering, was honored on April 20, 2001 with the 2001 Young Civil Engineer Achievement Award presented by the Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). The award recognizes Cal's research in the field of air pollution control. The Young Civil Engineer Achievement Award is presented to graduates to recognize outstanding achievements early in their career, and it is presented to only 1 in 1000 graduates of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at UIUC. As part of the award ceremony, Cal presented a seminar entitled "Destruction of Benzene in Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Reactors."
