National Energetic Materials Initiative

The National Energetic Materials Initiative (NEMI) has been formed to combine the science and technology resources of the academic community with the manufacturing resources of private industry in conjunction with government facilities to maintain programmatic relevance. The aim of the initiative is to bring potentially disruptive but critically needed innovation to the energetics sector of the national technological industrial base. This association among university and industry partners will allow for a rapid transition of new materials to a modernized industrial base. This event, hosted by New Mexico Tech, will provide technical interchange, networking, and an opportunity to formalize the structure and collaboration of the NEMI.

A primary objective of the meeting is to identify government and industry technical roadmaps, research needs and gaps. The meeting will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30. The concluding session will end by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31.
