The Summer

The Summer Session

All participants attend a six-week summer session at New Mexico Tech. Rooms and meals are provided to our students in the program. Stipends as well as work-study monies are given to eligible participants. The summer session, designed to simulate a college going experience, includes classes, tutoring, field trips, college visits, career exploration and a residential component.

During the six-week component students attend their classes and participate in a variety of academic and recreational activities designed to enrich their educational experience.

Summer Bridge Program

Upward Bound graduates attend a summer bridge program at New Mexico Tech. This special component of the summer program is coordinated with the regular Upward Bound summer session and the college's offerings. The bridge program offers students two classes for college credit and is designed to help students make the transition from high school to college. Tutoring, counseling, enrichment activities and access to all college facilities are special features of the summer bridge program.
