Tech Ranks among Nation's Bestby George ZamoraSOCORRO, NM, March 6, 1998 -- New Mexico Tech's graduate program in hydrology has once again been rated among the best in the nation in the recently published U. S. News & World Reports annual rankings of graduate schools. New Mexico Tech also recently received national recognition by being ranked among the country's best engineering schools by U. S. News & World Report in its latest edition of America's Best Colleges. The New Mexico Tech hydrology program again was tied with Penn State University as the nation's fourth-best graduate program in the specialty area of hydrogeology, behind much larger schools such as the University of Arizona, the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and Stanford University. This recent ranking marks the third year in a row that New Mexico Tech's graduate program in hydrology was ranked as the fourth-best in the United States. In the 11th annual edition of America's Best Colleges, New Mexico Tech also was once again enviably positioned among 14 of the nation's elite academic institutions, including California's Harvey Mudd College, Indiana's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering. | |
