Macey Scholars Program Opens to Applicantsby Kathy Hedges SOCORRO -- The Macey Scholars Program is once again open for applications from outstanding students. The program recognizes Tech students whose accomplishments have brought credit to themselves and to Tech. Those selected as Macey Scholars will receive an award of $5,000. To be eligible, students must be either undergraduates who have completed at least 30 semester hours at Tech or graduate students who have completed one year at Tech. Macey Scholars are chosen by a committee comprised of President López or his designee, two faculty members, one research staff member, and the dean of students. Interested students may pick up an application at 216 Brown Hall or use the one at http://www.nmt.edu/mainpage/honors/maceyapp.pdf. Faculty and staff members may nominate students, but nominated students still need to file an application. Completed applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 13, to Mary Edwards in Student and University Relations, 216 Brown Hall. Questions should be directed to Dr. Ricardo Maestas, Vice President for Student and University Relations and Dean of Students. -NMT- |
