NM Bureau of Geology Releases Book on Mining in NM

SOCORRO—The New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources has recently published Mining in New Mexico: the Environment, Water, Economics, and Sustainable Development, produced in conjunction with the fourth Decision-Makers Field Conference that was held in Taos in May of 2005.

The 176-page paperbound volume, which contains many full-color graphics and pictures, is an anthology of 30 articles that cover the geology and landscape of the Taos region, watershed protection and restoration, mineral and aggregate resources, current regulatory practices, issues with abandoned mines, financial assurance and bonding, and sustainable development.
