NM Bureau of Geology Staffer Makes Presentation on Researchby George Zamora SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – Virginia T. “Ginger” McLemore, senior economic geologist at the New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources (NMBGMR), recently gave a technical presentation on her current research at the 39th annual meeting of the South-Central Section of the Geological Society of America (GSA), which was held last week at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. McLemore’s presentation, titled “Proterozoic Evolution of Granitic and Mafic Rocks in the Northern Burro Mountains, Grant County, New Mexico, USA,” was delivered during a morning session of the annual GSA meeting, which had an attendance this year of about 250 geoscientists from throughout the region. In addition to her duties at the NMBGMR, McLemore also serves as an adjunct faculty member with New Mexico Tech’s Earth and Environmental Science and Mineral Engineering departments. -NMT- |
