PRRC Staff Win Honors
PRRC Director, Dr. Robert Lee, was awarded the Bob Moran Statesmanship Award for
2004 by the Independent Petroleum Association of New Mexico (IPANM). Lee was presented
with the award at a luncheon on August 6, 2004, during the IPANM's annual meeting
in Ruidoso, New Mexico. The award is conferred upon individuals who have distinguished
themselves as outstanding citizens of New Mexico who have made significant contributions
to the state. Lee received high praise for his desire to serve the industry in
ways that benefit both producers and administrators.
Dr. Susan Schrader won first place in the SPE Rocky Mountain Regional Student
Paper competition in Norman, Oklahoma this April with her paper, "A New
Method of Recoverable Reserves Estimation Using an Expert System," earning
a $350 prize and a paid trip to the International Student Paper Contest at the
ATCE in Houston this September. There she will compete with the other PhD division
first-place winners from regional contests. A copy of the paper will also apear
in this year's ATCE Proceedings. Dr. Schrader was awarded her PhD in Petroleum
Engineering from New Mexico Tech in May 2004. She is currently working as a
researcher within the PRRC REACT group.
