CEMED Signing Ceremony

"SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE . . ." Representatives of
New Mexico Tech, Sandia National Laboratories, and Los Alamos
National Laboratory recently convened in Albuquerque to sign a
memorandum of understanding which officially establishes the
Center for Energetic Materials and Energetic Devices (CEMED).
The newly formed research center will function as a three-member
umbrella organization whose primary focus will be on understanding
and predicting the behavior of commonly used
energetic materials and energetic devices, such as industrial
explosives and military munitions. Pictured signing the partnership

Juzaitis, associate director for weapons physics at Los Alamos
National Laboratory; Lenny Martinez, vice president of manufacturing
systems, science, and technology at Sandia National Laboratories;
Daniel López, president of New Mexico Tech; John Meason,
director of Tech’s Energetic Materials Research and
Testing Center; and Lonnie Marquez, vice president of finance and
administration at New Mexico Tech.
