His award-winning presentation was titled "Analytical Report on Ionic Liquids and Their Properties: Solvent Technologies of the Future."

Storey, who also recently was appointed and officially confirmed as the student board member on the New Mexico Tech Board of Regents, is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering at the state-supported research university.

He is a current member of the Tech student chapter of SHPE and also serves as the group's public relations officer.

In addition to his studies at New Mexico Tech, Storey works part-time as a laboratory technician at the university's Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center.
